Duplicate Devices

Introduction​

During discovery, some devices may appear with similar set of details like identical hostnames, identical lists of IP addresses, and so on. The Duplicate Devices page of the Inventory can help you identify device duplicates.

Find Duplicate Devices​

By default, the page shows a list of devices with duplicated IP addresses.

  1. Navigate to Inventory > Duplicate Devices.
  2. Select duplicate criteria from the drop-down list to search for duplicated devices based on other criteria as well: Host Name, Serial Number, IP Address, or a combination of those.

By default, there are 25 columns with the most commonly used device properties. Use the Columns drop-down list to add and remove columns from the current view.

Hide Duplicate Devices​

The duplicate devices could bring complications like in troubleshooting, application accuracy, reporting, an increased number of billable devices, etc. To avoid all that, you can identify and hide the duplicates from Insights.

  1. Navigate to Inventory > Duplicate Devices.
  2. Choose one or more devices that you want to hide.
  3. Click Hide Devices
  4. Verify the list of devices that will be hidden.
  5. Click Hide

The selected devices are hidden from Insights and only visible under Inventory > Hidden Devices page.
